16 Off-The-Shoulder Sweaters To Get You Ready For Fall

Off-the-shoulder tops are like chokers: As if overnight, suddenly they're everywhere. But their virality makes sense. They're a good swap for your usual fare, and they're très sexy in a coy kind of way. We even have a hack to keep them in placeoff your shoulders — so you don't have to fuss with your shirt all day.

Well, the trend isn't going anywhere anytime soon; it's just transitioning to fall. Off-the-shoulder sweaters are a slightly different animal — they're slouchier, and can look even better if one shoulder is covered. In the slideshow ahead, we've gathered some options to get you ready for a chic fall (or even now...hello AC). Get ready to brush your shoulders off with these 16 picks.

Layer with your favorite sheer long sleeve.

Topshop Boutique Bardot Zip Top, $115, available at Topshop.

The "unintentional" off-the-shoulder sweater.

H&M Oversized Sweater, $49.99, available at H&M.

When the off-the-shoulder sweater meets the button-down, we're down.

Style Mafia Jordan Top, $89, available at Style Mafia.

This sweater isn't black; it's a dark green. Wear it with only the first three buttons buttoned, and a high-waisted pair of trousers.

Tibi Fine Merino Decollete Dress, $495, available at Tibi.

Try a straight-across neckline when you don't want to show too much skin.

Boohoo Lola Slash Neck Fisherman Jumper, $20, available at Boohoo.

Tuck this into your favorite blue jeans.

Wilfred Croquis Sweater, $125, available at Aritzia.

This one's made for all your high-waisted bottoms.

C/MEO Collective Life Long Sleeve Knit Crop, $150, available at BNKR.

Don't be scared to layer this loud sweater underneath your lightweight summer dresses.

Vivetta Ippopotamo Off The Shoulder Sweater, $240, available at Moda Operandi.

Try bare shoulders paired with oversized balloon sleeves.

Opening Ceremony Off the Shoulder Sweater, $425, available at Opening Ceremony.

The next generation of shoulder-bearing sweaters are ones that look like the top has been completely chopped off, like this one.

Loéil Josefa Knit, $99, available at Loéil.

Cardigans are in! A cold-shoulder version is the least grandpa-ish take on the silhouette.

Pixie Market Black Cold Shoulder Cardigan, $82, available at Pixie Market.

The color might seem hard to pull off, but this oversized style looks better with your jeans than a T-shirt ever could.

Irene Off Shoulder Jumper, $464.99, available at Farfetch.

Meet your everyday shoulder-flaunting top.

Ganni Michi Rib Top, $120, available at Ganni.

Wear this bomber as a substitute for your go-to clavicle-revealing sweater.

Le Ciel Bleu Off Shoulder Bomber Jacket, $321.07, available at Farfetch.

It's hard to find the right oversized version of this trend. To get that super cool, baggy effect, repurpose your go-to sweater dress as a top.

Alexander Wang Cashwool Knit Off The Shoulder Pullover Dress, $395, available at Alexander Wang.

Trying the off the shoulder look for the first time? Go for a classic iteration.

Stylenanda Solid Tone Off-Shoulder Top, $20, available at Stylenanda.

Chrissy Metz Is Contractually Obligated To Lose Weight For This Is Us

$

It looks like the powers that be at This Is Us aren’t the body-positive advocates we’d hoped for. Chrissy Metz, who plays Kate in the series, revealed to TVLine that weight loss is on the horizon for her as dictated by her contract with the show.

Chrissy, who identifies with her character and her struggles with body image, told TVL “In our contract, it did state that [losing weight] would be a part of it, to lose the weight in the trajectory of the character as she comes to find herself. That was a win-win for me. Because it’s one thing to try to do it on your own, but as human beings, it’s an ego thing, but we’re more likely to do something for someone else.”

If Kate wants to lose weight, and is grateful for the extra incentive to get it done, great for her! But that doesn’t mean we can’t side-eye the show's creators. Being an actor means that you often put your body at the mercy of a script or plot line. You might have to dye your hair, grow a beard, undergo training to learn a new sport, or sculpt your muscles in certain ways. And it’s not always pretty. But it's made immensely more complicated and shady when we’re asking someone to embark on a personal weight-loss journey that already comes with its own set of ups and downs. To require Metz to undertake this as a condition of her job seems a bit ridiculous, especially from a show that has been heralded for its nuanced portrayal of fat people.

What’s most disappointing about this news is that This Is Us has obviously subscribed to the problematic notion that fat people only ever achieve true happiness once they’ve lost weight. Yawn. I’m sure they’re going to write the post-weight-loss script in a way that shows Kate realizing that slimmer doesn’t equal a perfect life. That’s a relevant, but played out storyline. It’s a trope that is more often than not used in an attempt to pacify fat people dealing with the very real ramifications of fat-shaming.

If This Is Us really wanted to break the mold, the show's creators would let Kate finally stop obsessing and hating her body. Letting a fat person be fat is always more radical.

For one of the first times, ever, this season's trends combine fashion and function seamlessly. But what does that mean for us style-minded folk, exactly? Well, for those of us who have a winter agenda filled with outdoor excursions, it's pretty much a blessing. Dressing for these types of adventures isn't the easiest thing to do: You try to bundle up in "practical" clothing (or so you think) while maintaining your trend-driven mindset, only to end up uncomfortable and complaining your way through the weekend.

No one wants to be in this scenario. Not only does it leave you wishing you just sucked it up and spent some of that hard-earned cash on actual hiking shoes rather than embellished combat boots with absolutely no grip, but you're also forced to suck it up in order to avoid being the Debbie Downer of the trip. With the 30 picks ahead, you can enjoy being outside this winter and look great while doing it.

Nick Gordon Ordered To Pay $36 Million To Bobbi Kristina Brown's Family

A chapter in the Bobbi Kristina Brown case has closed. A settlement has been reached in the wrongful death lawsuit filed by Brown's family following her 2015 death.

In September, a judge ruled that Nick Gordon, Brown's partner at the time of her death, was responsible for the 2015 death of Brown. According to a report from the Associated Press, Gordon has now been ordered by a judge to pay $36 million in the wrongful death case.

Brown was found unresponsive in her bathtub in January of 2015. At the time, Gordon was living in her house. She died six months later in the hospital.

The case alleged that Gordon gave Brown a "toxic cocktail" before placing her in a tub of cold water, leading to brain damage, reports Entertainment Tonight.

The settlement is an important step in Gordon taking responsibility for his alleged role in Brown's death. However, for Brown's father, this isn't the only step.

In September of 2016, Bobby Brown told pastor T.D. Jakes on his talk show that there's one thing he needs to move on: "The D.A. still hasn't taken out criminal charges on Nick Gordon, and that's what I'm waiting for him to do. That's when I think I will get some closure."

Here is hoping that Brown's loved ones are at peace with the judge's ruling.

It's Okay If You Have A Crush On John Mayer's New Song

$

In 2002, John Mayer told us all that our bodies were a wonderland. In 2006, he told us that good love was on the way. And now, in 2016, Mayer wants to takes us on a romantic getaway in "Love On The Weekend."

Mayer spent last week teasing the release of his first single since "XO " in 2014, and it's finally here! Always on the jazzier, and more emotional side of pop-rock, Mayer is tapping into some serious Continuum energy with "Love On The Weekend," which was released on November 17 on Apple Music and Spotify. For the past two years, he's been touring with members of The Grateful Dead as part of the Dead and Company mash-up group and now Mayer is right back to his romantic and crooning roots.

And I for one am loving it.

But I've always loved his songs. I first saw Mayer perform when I was a hormonal 15-year-old. It was August of 2007 and I had bottom braces, acne, and a Juicy Couture tank top on. I was there with half a dozen girlfriends, cheering and singing along to every song. We could barely handle ourselves. His voice. His swag (sorry lame word, but he has it). His guitar skills! He was enchanting to hear and see on stage. (The New York Post agreed.) But like most rising stars, he got too close to the sun and went from potential heartbreaker to undeniable player, telling Rolling Stone in 2010: "All I want to do now is fuck the girls I've already fucked, because I can't fathom explaining myself to somebody who can't believe I'd be interested in them, and they're going, 'But you're John Mayer!' So I'm going backwards to move forward. I'm too freaked out to meet anybody else."

But that was four years ago, and he seems to have softened a bit from peak-douchebag (he once uttered the words "Joshua Tree of vaginas ") and this song is a mark of that transformation back to acoustic guitar-playing and lovey-dovey lyric-writing artist. This is his return to the OG John Mayer.

In this new track, the 39-year-old IRL-bachelor sings about how excited he is to meet up with his love interest and take her on a special weekend trip. It's a sweet track, with a quiet melody, complemented by Mayer's soothing vocals. It's a relaxing track for a chill road trip with a lover or love interest. While it's not a gamble of a song (there are no epic guitar solos, no risky vocals), it manages to hold my interest on the first, second, third, and fourteenth play. I just wonder who he's singing about... Maybe we'll get clues with other forthcoming tracks off of his upcoming album, The Search For Everything, which has no official release date but will be out soon.

Fans of Mayers are also very psyched to have new music from the former playboy.

So, start planning that weekend getaway while you prepare for your own love on the weekend.

Nick Cannon On Expecting Child With His Ex: "Everybody Get A Baby!"

$

Earlier this month, news broke that Nick Cannon's ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell was pregnant. People speculated that Cannon is the father, but that was just gossip — until now. On Thursday, Cannon announced during an interview on radio podcast The Breakfast Club that he indeed has a baby on the way with his ex.

When asked about Bell, Cannon asked rhetorically, "Who said it wasn’t mine?” He continued, “I’ve got a baby on the way…absolutely." The America's Got Talent host joked he was doing God's work by, erm, spreading his seed. "God said be fruitful and multiply,” the 35-year-old said. “I’m doing the Lord’s work… Everybody get a baby! I’m passing them out.” (Am I the only one who's reminded of Oprah's now-iconic "You get a car! You get a car!" moment here?)

Bell — a Guamanian-American actress and one-time Miss Arizona — is six months along, reports Us Weekly. It makes sense that Cannon would be the father: Following his 2014 split from Mariah Carey, Cannon has been dating 28-year-old Bell on and off, according to Us Weekly. Cannon has also been busy for the past couple of years co-parenting his children with his ex-wife. He and Carey have 5-year-old twins named Monroe and Moroccan. What we're wondering now is whether Cannon will continue the "M"-name theme for baby number three.

This Makeup Trend Is Going To Be Huge — & It's SO Flattering

$

Some trends are so wild, unexpected, and flashy that they hit the red carpet like a beauty tidal wave. See: platinum hair or rainbow lipstick. Others are more subtle, gaining steam without causing a ruckus. While tougher to spot, it's these subtler trends that tend to be the most wearable — and Hollywood just gave us fall's biggest one yet: gilded eyes and glossy lips.

In fact, once we started noticed this ultra-flattering pairing last month, we couldn't stop seeing it. It's as if the top makeup artists, whose client rosters include Zendaya, Shay Mitchell, and Gigi Hadid, got together over Labor Day and said, "Let's make this the look for fall."

Not only is it flattering and easy to master, there's really no wrong way to wear it. From metallic bronze to soft copper and electric gold, there's a fresh version from the past month for everyone — each of which is paired with a lip look that ranges from vinyl shine to a soft sheen.

Ahead, 13 of your favorite celebs demonstrate how they're wearing gilded eyes and shiny lips right now — plus product recs to pull off the trend at home.

This story was originally published on October 7, 2016.

Jourdan Dunn

During New York Fashion Week, Dunn stepped out to an event wearing a nude lip gloss and metallic gold shadow buffed onto the inner half of her lids.

Bonus pairing: Light contouring and highlighting keeps the sculpted effect going strong.

Photo: Gilbert Carrasquillo/GC Images.

Try: Stila's Kitten shadow will make this look a breeze to pull off. Just add your favorite neutral gloss.

Stila Eye Shadow Pan in Compact in Kitten, $18, available at Stila.

Hailee Steinfeld

Steinfeld stepped out during the press tour for The Edge of Seventeen with a smudged, shimmery, and all around badass rose gold eye. Keep the rest of the face neutral, with cheeks rooted in shades of rose, to keep the finished look super-polished.

Photo: Daniel Zuchnik/WireImage.

Try: Build out your smoky eye using a palette of neutral browns and golds, then gently pat loose, shimmery pigment over the top of the lid and under the center of the eye using a small, stiff brush.

Nyx Pigments in Stunner, $6, available at Nyx Cosmetics.

Kim Kardashian

Earlier this week, Kardashian attended Givenchy's Paris Fashion Week show sporting a unique take on the trend: mixed metals. Makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic used a vibrant yellow gold around her lashlines and a deep copper on the lids.

Photo: Dominique Charriau/WireImage.

Try:This look came courtesy of makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic's new palette and a touch of Pat McGrath's Lust #004.

Pat McGrath Labs Lust 004 Lipstick Kit, $60, available at Sephora.

Emma Roberts

For a more dramatic take on the trend, follow Roberts' lead. Last month, the actresses went for a pinky lip sheen and vibrant gold liner.

Photo: Chance Yeh/Getty Images.

Try: There's no wrong way to wear Nyx's Liquid Crystal Liner, but we suggest a thin, even line against your bottom lash line.

Nyx Liquid Crystal Liner in Crystal Gold, $4.49, available at Ulta Beauty.

Gigi Hadid

Cop the look Hadid sported to an event during NYFW by blending a warm bronze hue into a cat-eye shape. Pair with clear gloss and a rich brown liner for definition.

Photo: James Devaney/GC Images.

Try: Firecracker and Rocker from this editor-approved palette will deliver an easy-to-apply take on the trend.

Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Palette, $45, available at Tarte.

Shay Mitchell

Makeup artist Patrick Ta crafted his signature upturned eye on Shay Mitchell this week in enviable shades of bronze. Tip: Don't forget to highlight the inner corners to keep the look bright.

Photo: Via @shaym.

Try: Any earthy metallic palette will work — but the real trick to this look is nailing the sharp lines. Novices will find it easy when done with a simple strip of tape or an eyeshadow shield as a guide.

Shadow Shields The Original Eye Shadow Makeup Application Shields, $4.78, available at Walmart.

Barbara Palvin

Last month, the model proved there are no rules when it comes to a high-shine beauty look. Combine dewy skin, metallic shadow, and glossy lips for a look that throws it back to summer.

Photo: Sean Zanni/Patrick McMullan/ Getty Images.

Try: We're partial to CoverGirl's Goldens palette and a swipe of NARS' Chelsea Girls gloss.

CoverGirl Goldens TruNaked Eyeshadow Palette, $11.99, available at Ulta Beauty.

Zendaya

Zendaya's dramatic version, which she wore last month, is deep, dark, and spiked with gold and bronze. The lesson here: Adding a gilded touch to your go-to cat-eye makes it feel completely on-trend.

Photo: Paul Morigi/Getty Images.

Try:MAC's Lip Glass will deliver a vinyl-like sheen to lips.

MAC Lipglass Clear, $15, available at MAC.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Huntington-Whiteley stepped out in London with a rosy lip sheen (no pun intended) and a rich, brassy eyeshadow.

Photo: Dave Benett/Getty Images.

Try: Sonia Kashuk's affordable palette makes this look a breeze, especially when paired with Lorac's rose-colored gloss.

Lorac Lip Lustre Gloss in Rose, $15, available at Lorac.

Jordyn Woods

Woods made her eyes look wide awake with pale, shimmery gold shadow dabbed in the center of the lid. (She also shows that a vinyl-effect lip gloss is not required — low-shine peach is just as pretty.)

Photo: John Lamparski/WireImage.

Try: Revlon's creamy formula allows for strategic application over your everyday neutral shadow.

Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art in Topaz Twinkle, $8.99, available at Ulta Beauty.

Margot Robbie

Robbie jumped on the trend this spring when she wore a thin, shimmery line of bright yellow gold shadow along the upper lashes. It brings out her gorgeous blue eyes in a major way — and it's so easy to do.

Photo: Larry Busacca/Getty Images.

Try: Liquid liner, like Kat Von D's Lightening Liner, makes it fast to master — just be sure to use primer to keep it precise all day or night.

Kat Von D Lightning Liner in Gould, $20, available at Sephora.

Cara Delevingne

The model/actress donned a bronze smoky eye and pale glossy lips during London Fashion Week — and chest paint, to boot.

Photo: Mike Marsland /WireImage.

Try: You'll need a palette and a shiny pale-pink gloss for this modern look. We like Maybelline's formula in Peek-A-Boo.

Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Peek-A-Boo, $4.49, available at Ulta Beauty.

Jessica Alba

Not into drama? Soft and subtle works, too. Steal Alba's style if you're looking to ease into the trend. She wore this no-makeup makeup version of the trend in New York last month. Tip: Keep the skin lightly sculpted and highlighted for a dewy finish.

Photo: Vivien Killilea/Getty Images.

Try: Blend a shimmery golden cream shadow that complements your skin all around your lashline. (Alba's own Honest Beauty gold liner flatters most complexions.)

Honest Beauty True Velvet Eyeliner in Truly Gold, $16, available at Honest Beauty.

Rita Ora

Ora arrived at Tom Ford's fashion show strobed to perfection, sporting a heavy lash with her light gold shadow and pinky lip sheen.

Photo: Neilson Barnard/Getty Images.

Try: Makeup Revolution's palette is packed with every shade you'll need to start slow (like Ora) and build up to a fully gilded look.

Makeup Revolution Redemption Eyeshadow Palette, $7, available at Ulta Beauty.

Hillary Clinton Wears Yet Another Poignant Pantsuit

$

Last week, Hillary Clinton gave her moving concession speech in an incredibly poignant pantsuit. The purple lapels on her Ralph Lauren getup were rife with significance: the color, which Clinton rarely wore on the campaign trail, is a combination of the Democratic and Republican hues of blue and red, respectively, and is also a color associated with unity, women's suffrage efforts, and penitence. In other words, an outfit that telegraphed a need to rally together across party lines during the next four years. She followed that powerful outfit choice with a more partisan, yet perhaps, equally meaningful pantsuit at her first post-election speech on Wednesday.

Clinton opted for a royal-blue suit while speaking at the Children's Defense Fund's Beat The Odds gala. Aside from its Democratic associations, the calming hue is synonymous with qualities like loyalty, stability, and confidence. The presidential candidate was candid about how tough it was to move on: "I will admit, coming here tonight wasn't the easiest thing for me," Clinton said. "There have been a few times this past week where all I wanted to do was curl up with a good book and our dogs and never leave the house again."

Repping her party via her fashion choice for her first speech after an often-arduous year and a half of campaigning also aligns with the motivating, perseverance-focused messaging of what she was saying, despite collective uncertainty about what, exactly, a Donald Trump presidency will look like.

"We have work to do and, for the sake of our children and our families and our country, I ask you to stay engaged, stay engaged on every level," Clinton told the crowd. "We need you. America needs you, your energy, your ambition, your talent. That is how we get through this."

Considering HRC was certainly strategic with her wardrobe while on the campaign trail, this latest number is, in all likelihood, an intentional, deliberately partisan color choice. But why shouldn't Clinton be rallying her political affiliates and, more specifically, her loyal followers during this challenging post-election effort to move on?

Chocolate Cheese Exists Now Because This Is The World We Live In

Around this time last year, sliced chocolate became a popular food trend in Japan. The slices look a lot like those plastic-y Kraft singles that make such delicious grilled cheeses. This weird trend was the closest we ever thought the world would come to chocolate cheese, but recently, we discovered we were very wrong. A dairy specialist in Melbourne called Curds & Whey just came out with a product that combines actual cheese with actual chocolate.

If your first instinct was "ick!" then brace yourself, because it gets weirder. The cheesemaker chose to add chocolate to one of the stinkiest cheeses around, Italian blue cheese. Mashable reports the concoction is called Choco 21, and it's aged in chocolate liqueur. If that's not chocolatey enough for you, don't worry: It's also covered in cocoa and topped with chocolate chunks.

Would you dare try this experimental cheese? Well, according to the shop's Instagram account, it's completely sold out. Comments on the photo suggest people are extremely upset there's no more Choco 21 in the world, so maybe we're being too close-minded. Or maybe Australians just have very different taste?

Welcome Back, Chain Belts

$

In the '80s, chain belts reigned supreme. They more closely mirrored our jewelry than traditional belts, and women didn't worry if their pants actually stayed up (chains were draped over dresses and skirts as decoration, too). In the '90s, the look took a turn toward more hardcore, punk iterations, with wallet chains giving outfits an edgier vibe.

Now the chain belt is back. And, as in decades past, we're adorning our pants, skirts, and even dresses with them as though they were jewelry. (Sometimes we're even wearing them as necklaces, too.) Ahead, we've rounded up all the modern-day iterations to buy before everyone else catches on. While some of them can actually keep our pants in place, it's definitely not a prerequisite. Bottoms up (or not)!

Keep those pants on your hips with this sturdy, locked-up take on a chain belt.

Ryan Reynolds Gives Perfect Advice On Partner Delivery Room Etiquette

Ryan Reynolds' advice is shockingly on point in a lot of situations. His self-possession is probably the key. Witness how he stands up to this brutal grilling by his "twin." Shit, he asked now-wife Blake Lively to dance at a near-empty restaurant in Tribeca.

So it should be no surprise that he knows exactly how men should behave in the delivery room. At this point, he's a veteran of two daughters, so he should know at least two things about how to successfully navigate a very stressful environment. Frankly, his advice goes for any social situation:

Be in the room, you're not Don Draper.

Be judicious with your photo-taking, a picture of your daughter crowning on the refrigerator isn't helping anyone.

You, the father, really want to realize you're the least important thing in the room.

We mean, really. You could follow those rules at brunch and be considered the most charming person in the room. But maybe brunch is a bad example. Brunch is essentially lawless.

Watch Reynolds tips for new dads below.

This Designer's Open Letter Urges The Industry Not To Dress Melania Trump

Designer Sophie Theallet has dressed Michelle Obama and designed clothes inspired by her. But she won't be creating anything for Melania Trump, and she hopes other designers won't either.

In an open letter posted to Twitter on Thursday, she urges the fashion industry to protest Trump by refusing to dress his wife.

"The Sophie Theallet brand stands against all discrimination and prejudice. Our runway shows, ad campaigns, and celebrity dressing have always been a celebration of diversity and a reflection of the world we live in," it reads.

"I am well aware it is not wise to get involved in politics," she continues. "That said, as a family-owned company, our bottom line is not just about money. We value our artistic freedom and always humbly seek to contribute to a more humane, conscious, and ethical way to create in this world."

As an immigrant born in France, Theallet could get on board with the Obama administration, but she rejects the "racism, sexism, and xenophobia" rampant in Trump's campaign.

"I encourage my fellow designers to do the same," she concludes. "Integrity is our only true currency."

The tweet has gotten 90 favorites and many supportive comments.

Theallet's not the first designer to take a stand against Trump. Kaelen Haworth, known for dressing Blake Lively, put her clothes on sale and donated the money shoppers spent on them to Planned Parenthood, Black Lives Matter, and 15 other organizations Trump opposes.

"I thought doing this initiative would be a nice way to remind people who will be most affected by the election outcome," she told Refinery29, "that there are people and organizations fighting for you everyday, before Trump and after."

This Deleted Scene Just Solved A Dolores-Related Westworld Mystery

The mysteries of Westworld are too many to count. There's the maze, the identity of the Man in Black, and Arnold's ongoing role in the park. But one of the mysteries that we nearly forgot about was Dolores' budding painting career. By budding, we mean that she's painted nearly 11,000 paintings. That's budded, withered, and come back to budding several times over.

An astute redditor posed the question in the form of an imgur post.

The real question no one is asking

Jonathan Nolan, showrunner, answered in a form that will be familiar to any fan of the show.

But, reader? We have a solution, thanks to a deleted scene which has been giffed and uploaded to imgur. Witness

Drawings

The answer: They just put them in a closet. Unlike Maeve, who can see her sketches as they're the product of her unconscious mind, Dolores can't see her own paintings. Now that's what I call tragedy. Or it would be, if she weren't just a high-functioning machine.

Then again, aren't humans just high functioning machines? We'll wait while you pick your brains off the pavement.

Luke Was Originally A Woman Named Daisy On Gilmore Girls

The relationship between Lorelai and Luke on Gilmore Girls was not originally intended to be a romance, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino just revealed to Entertainment Weekly. In fact, the owner of what became Luke's Diner wasn't even going to be a man.

"Luke was originally a female character," she said — and her name was Daisy.

It was merely to meet a quota that Luke came in to being. "[The network] came to me and said we need another guy, so I literally just took a character and changed the name, didn’t even change any of the dialogue because I’m that lazy," Sherman-Palladino said.

Who knows what could've happened if they didn't give that order. Could Lorelai have had a lesbian relationship? Would she have ended up with Chris or Max?

We'll never know, because when Luke stepped in, sparks flew. "It’s just this funny, weird chemistry that we had in terms of being complete opposites and also this built-in conflict of he has the thing she wants — which is coffee," Graham told EW. "It was just something about the two of those characters together that they kept going back to and then it kept growing."

And now, it's only another week until we get to see them consummate their relationship — or at least, in Scott Patterson's words, do some "really intense adult scenes."

Watch Jennifer Lawrence Nearly Drown In A Zero-G Swimming Pool

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt's upcoming turn in Passengers is a lonely bright spot in a movie year as bleak as space is cold. The pair has already become one of our favorite on-screen couples before a proper trailer was even released. And now these teasers have confirmed what we already thought.

This scene with Jennifer Lawrence swimming is nerve-wracking. Of course, it comes without any context whatsoever. But the thought of drowning in a swimming pool because gravity fails is horrifying. Watch.

Chris Pratt's on-set experience is less drowny and more akin to crashing golf carts into things. That's why they pay him the big bucks. To crash stuff into other stuff. His life seems nice.

Here's The Country With The Most Selfie Deaths

Selfie death is a real thing. People do dangerous shit all the time for their sweet snaps. Like, this one here. This triggers vertigo just by association. You know, "don't try this at home?" Meet, "don't try this on top of a building in Shanghai."

A recent study jointly conducted by Carnegie Mellon University and the Indraprastha Institute of Information in Delhi shows that the social media fatalities are climbing at a semi-alarming rate. The MIT Technology Review estimates that 24 billion selfies were uploaded to Google Photos last year alone.

So maybe it's not shocking that selfie deaths have increased from 15 in 2014, to 39 in 2015, and now to 73 in just the first eight months of this year. To contextualize: six people died of shark attacks in 2015.

The main area for selfie deaths was India. 76 people died in the country between March 2014 and September 2016 of the 127 total selfie deaths worldwide. Second on the list was Pakistan, with nine. The countries are geographical neighbors. Researchers attribute the high Indian death count to a very specific cultural meme.

“This trend caters to the belief that posing on or next to train tracks with their best friend is regarded as romantic and a sign of never-ending friendship,” researchers write.

Russia and America are third and fourth on the list, with six and eight deaths for the respective countries. Those deaths stem largely from accidental firearm discharge.

“This might be a consequence of the open gun laws in both the countries,” the team suggests.

The deadliest activities are falling from heights (8 deaths), being hit by a train (12), and electrocution (15).

So if you're going to take a dangerous selfie, try not to do it from a height near an electric train. Oh, and don't point a gun at your head. You'd think that was pretty self-explanatory.

This Man Made The World's Largest PSL — & Drank It In Two Minutes

They say you can have too much of a good thing, but pumpkin spice lattes may be the one exception. At least that seems to be the philosophy Matt "Megatoad" Stonie brought to his "World's Largest Pumpkin Spice Latte" video, where he drinks — you guessed it — the world's largest PSL.

Stonie got seven venti drinks at Starbucks and combined them all into one in his kitchen.

The drink is about the size of his entire upper body and fills the largest coffee cup we've ever seen. To make it even more challenging for himself, he squirts whipped cream all over it. It takes 30 seconds just for him to coat the top.

This is the winner of Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest we're talking about, Cosmopolitan reports, and he clearly does not mess around. He downs it all in a minute and 55 seconds.

He's not even a diehard PSL fan — he'd actually never had one in his life before this. The verdict? "It was delicious."

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Another Beckham Kid Has Gotten Into The Fashion Biz

Brooklyn and Romeo Beckham have gained success as models, but Harper may be headed into the fashion industry as a designer. A doodle she drew at age four became the basis for her dad's tattoo, and it's now also on a shirt designed by her mom for World AIDS Day.

It depicts a simple stick figure in a dress next to a heart, but it's not your typical kid's drawing. It's got crisp edges and a distinctive style. The shirt features a red ribbon on the figure's dress in honor of the occasion.

As a UN ambassador, Victoria Beckham has designed a shirt to raise funds to fight AIDS every year. "This year, for the first time (and along with a little help from Harper), I've created an adults T-shirt with a matching mini-version for children too," she told Harper's Bazaar.

The shirts are for sale on Beckham's website, and proceeds go to Born Free Africa, which prevents the spread of the disease from mothers to children.

Is This Streaming Service Really The Black Netflix?

$

0

Bounce TV just launched a new on-demand streaming service called Brown Sugar, that specializes in Black films. The service operates much like Netflix: subscribers pay a monthly fee of $3.99 for unlimited access to Brown Sugar’s library of films. In fact their trailer says that they’re “just like Netflix, but Blacker.”

It’s a pretty cool concept. But the selection of available films leaves much to be a desired from a platform that truly aims to be the Black Netflix. Most of the films featured are from the blaxploitation era where Black leads were caught in a catch-22 of finally appearing as heroes and main characters, but embodying harmful stereotypes in the process. The likes of Pam Grier (who is an ambassador for Brown Sugar) and Richard Roundtree got their starts in the blaxploitation genre. These films are a painful reminder of the road Black actors had to forge toward a more diverse Hollywood. Though, that didn’t diminish the popularity of these films among Black and non-Black audiences.

So it’s worth noting that I might be able to get behind this if the promo and marketing weren’t so tragically corny. The official trailer looks like a promo reel for a straight to DVD movie in the Walmart 88-cent bin. True to theme, they summoned one of the greasiest (greasy in a shiny shirt, too much product in his beard, and not very nice to women kind of way) rappers, they could find, Rick Ross, to promote the video-on-demand service. They’ve also organized the film into “categories” that include “Foxy Mamas” and “Jive Ass Turkeys.” How am I supposed to watch the movies if I can’t stop rolling my eyes?!

I’ll be keeping an eye out for the new titles that will be added to their collection over the next few months. I wonder how long it’ll be before they can afford to produce original Black films like “Meet the Blacks” or “Almost Christmas”?

You can check out the site and the trailer here.
