Harry Styles Isn't The Only Celebrity With A Favorite Women's Fragrance

Say you were at your favorite musician's concert. You love this guitar-playing human, right? Wouldn't it be nice then if, by random chance, he or she walked by — and you just so happened to be wearing his or her favorite fragrance? I mean, people get struck by lightning. Crazier things have happened.

In fact, Harry Styles just told Rolling Stones he'll never forget the scent of his first love. John Mayer can sniff out traces of the Child Perfume from yards away. (Still waiting on the fragrance that drives Justin Bieber wild, but that's probably just me.) The point is, there is power in perfume — and it's about time we started talking about.

That's why we compiled a list of some of the most unsuspecting aromas that have piqued the attention of our favorite artists. No matter your intentions, isn't it nice to have some scent insurance? You know, just in case the impossible becomes... possible.

Harry Styles

There's no denying that fragrance takes up a lot of space in your memory bank — something Styles is especially privy to. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, he admitted that he still remembers certain things about his first girlfriend. "I smell that perfume all the time," he said. "I'll be in a lift or a reception and say to someone, 'Alien, right?' And sometimes they're impressed and sometimes they're a little creeped out. 'Stop smelling me.'" Did you hear that, Directioners?

Sean Mendes

Prefer to smell like a legit tropical island year-round? Mendes does, too. Earlier this year, the singer professed his love for Sol de Janeiro's coveted Bum Bum scent — a dreamy blend of almond, pistachio, salted caramel, and musk — via Snapchat. "No joke best smelling stuff on earth," he wrote about the body lotion. "No I don't use it on my bum. Hands only." Luckily, the brand bottled the slice of paradise, so you can spray with abandon.

Rick Ross

If you think rappers are too "tough" to appreciate frilly fragrances, you haven't sniffed the scents from Pitbull and Sean Jean. Further proof? Trilla's "Reppin My City." Among the lyrics: "Then I crank up the boom / Smellin Issey Miyake / Soon as I step in the room." While he doesn't mention the exact Issey fragrance wafting in his (most likely diamond decorated) bedroom, we can only assume he's talking about the brand's 2008 fragrance with a blend of floral and grassy notes. (That's when the song came out, after all.)

Issey Miyake L`Eau d`Issey Summer (2008), this product has been discontinued.

John Mayer

In yet another soundbite from a Rolling Stone interview, Mayer proved that he too knows a good scent when he smells it. Mid-interview, he paused to ask the group, “Excuse me, can I be rude and ask you a question? Is somebody here wearing Child?” Indeed, someone was — and alas, some of his most devout fans (at least, a fan at the Refinery29 office) have been wearing it ever since.
