Check Out 4 Very Fresh Celeb Takes On The Velvet Comeback

Over the past (wintry) months, we rediscovered our love of velvet — and this slight sartorial obsession manifested in various forms in our wardrobes. Cushy dresses made their way through the holiday party circuit. Then, Emma Roberts convinced us that velvety shoes are the swiftest (albeit slightly hard to clean) upgrade for our #OOTDs, with not one, or two, but three sightings in the textured kicks. Now, the temperatures are warming up, but our love for the plushy fabric isn't cooling down.

So, it's time to get inventive and dream up new ways to incorporate velvet into our everyday spring wardrobe without looking like we're a season behind. Celebrities are a step ahead of us, giving us serious inspiration on how to wear our favorite silhouettes in new, plushier ways. From Rowan Blanchard's reverse layering to Chelsea Leyland's electric suit, check out four fresh takes on the textured trend that's surprisingly more suited to transitional dressing than you might expect.

The Bralette
Rowan Blanchard put a fresh, spring-appropriate spin on a full Rodarte x & Other Stories look with a simple, yet not-so-obvious, styling trick: Wearing a velvet bralette over a plain white T-shirt. It's a piece worth showing off — both because of the detailing and of the bragging rights, seeing as this piece sold out very quickly.

The Suit
Nowadays, you can find the perfect suit in as any hue and texture you can dream of. (And for now, you'll find us wishing for the duvet variety...) Chelsea Leyland's plushy blue ensemble is as party-ready as any ol' LBD hanging in your closet, except much more festive and fun.

The Trousers
Kitty Cash's draped Missoni trousers solve a familiar, but still tricky, spring dressing problem: It's warm enough to ditch the coat, yet not warm enough to leave your limbs exposed. The velvet feels luxe and refined, but the flowing silhouette is cozy (especially during that New York Fashion Week chill). A striped A$AP Rocky for Guess Originals turtleneck offsets the rich texture and color of the bottoms.

The Jumpsuit
We haven't come across a one-piece we didn't like — and that certainly rings true for Alana Hadid's Lou & Grey jumpsuit. This particular number is, unfortunately, not shoppable (...yet). You'd think so much velvet would be overwhelming, but the burnt orange hue and almost-matte finish (so that the fabric isn't overly shiny, as velvet sometimes can be) give the jumpsuit a cheery, playful quality.
